Take A Boring Wood Gate And Make It Amazing With Whimsical Iron Art

Take A Boring Wood Gate And Make It Amazing With Whimsical Iron Art

Functional Art
Instead of having a boring wood gate like everybody else in the neighborhood you can make your garden gate amazing by adding my whimsical wrought iron art to the front of it. A wrought iron gate combined with wood can be created simply by taking any wood gate and simply attach my iron art to the front with a set of screws and you have that WOW factor.  The iron art for the gate was sculptured by hand, and all the iron is hand bent without the use of heat. It is finished in a skillet grey powder coat to keep it looking fantastic for decades. BENT iron art interior railing with a distressed wood handrail and base

BENT iron art interior railing with a distressed wood handrail and base

Architectural Sculpture
I did this project a few years ago with the end result being a distressed wood railing with my BENT iron art railing inserts. The railing had golden oak handrails and base and white balusters.  The first step was to remove the white balusters and strip the oak handrail and base down to the bare wood.  From there I custom fit and created my BENT iron art railing design as inserts.  The iron was powder coated in a oil rubbed bronze finish. From that point the BENT iron art railing was then installed and attached to the handrail and wood base.  Then the bare wood was stained in a Jacobean color creating a distressed look.

STIX Sculptural Coat Rack

STIX Sculptural Coat Rack

Functional Art
My STIX Sculptural Coat Rack has found a new home to hold the coats, bag and umbrella's of many fine people in a law office in Toronto, Ontario. The inspiration for the STIX Coat rack came when I was thinking of a coat rack design that would be a sculpture on it's own and could be changed up to allow it to have a new look any time it was desired by the owner.  This led to the iron STIX being designed to slide in and out of iron tube slots in the base so each one can be moved around or just spun 45, 90, 180 or whatever degree you want. The base had to have enough weight to allow heavy jackets to be slung on the STIX so…

The scroll iron art bench

The scroll iron art bench

Functional Art
The scroll iron art bench began with a piece of reclaimed pine that was sitting in my studio covered in dust.  With a slight twist to the wood the base needed to be built to allow for the unevenness. The base began to be made from individual hand bent iron and was  finished with a hand painted soft iron finish.  It now resides with a patron in Pennsylvania USA. This art piece has been SOLD.  I would be happy to create something similiar for you, please contact me. My iron art can be finished in a array of colors, I use Rite-Way Powder Coating to do my powder coating, you can see all the options here. Save

Here is my BENT Iron Art railing used by one of my great customers

Here is my BENT Iron Art railing used by one of my great customers

Architectural Sculpture
John from Carter Lake, Iowa says: "My experience with Cam Harris was simply great. I wanted to replace a wooden railing at the entrance to my home that a friend described as "a big baby crib", with a half wall and iron rail. My taste is not country and contemporary - I needed someone that could take a design and fabricate it. After a lot of Google image searching, I found Cam! Cam's work is exemplary. Don't know how else to say it. I was able to create a design, make a call, and describe what I wanted to do (to remove the eyesore at the entrance of my home) and it made sense to him. With some measuring and a picture, I was able to…
