Over the years I have had the pleasure of creating different railing ideas for clients in Canada and the United States. So I went back and gathered images and here are a few of the designs that were created to give you inspiration for your indoor or outdoor projects.
Retro Railings
This project was for a client who was renovating a home to sell. I provided the client with a few design ideas and my Retro Railing was the winner! It had a classic art deco feel that went with the design of the home. The design incorporated and adapted scroll pattern.
The metal was finished in a durable textured black powder coat to keep them looking elegant for a long time.
BENT Iron Art Railings
One of my first projects that used my BENT Iron Art railing was this one in Fisherman’s Cove Virginia. The client was looking for railing ideas and came across my BENT Iron Art design. We worked together on the combination of the iron and wood which was reclaimed Douglas Fir for the posts.
This design created a powerful look throughout the home making the iron art a focus piece. Each piece is laid out in a random bent design. Using solid round steel wherever the metal intersects it is welded and ground to a seamless finish. This makes each railing piece a solid piece of art and a one of a kind piece.
Stix and Circles Deck Railing Ideas
The Stix and Circles (yes I know it is spelled sticks) reminds me of the game pick up sticks that I would play as a kid. The design was laid out so that the gaps were no bigger than 4″ to meet local building code. The circles were added to break up all the straight lines in the railings.
