When the client contacted me about their stair railing makeover they wanted my Twigs Design metal railing as the feature part of the new fresh stair railing. Their old railing had a basic handrail and white balusters. Here is what the railings looked like before the stair railing design project began.
STEP 1 – The white balusters, were removed along with the newel post and wood handrail.
STEP 2 – Once the stair treads and flooring were replaced a new box style newel post was installed. From there a new wood handrail was also installed.
STEP 3 – I provided my client with a drawing showing the dimenions and angles needed to get the right fit. I then custom made my Twigs Design railing to fit based on the dimensions they sent. The iron was powder coated in a flat black finish which gives a elegant look to the iron work.
Using a digital angle finder on site the client provided me the images of the angles. I am then able to duplicate the exact angles in the studio ensuring a perfect fit.
STEP 4 – Once the newel post and handrail were painted black my Twigs Design metal railing panel was installed by screwing the top into the underside of the wood handrail. The bottoms were attached with wood screws through the brackets that are welded to the ends.
Here is the end result of the stair railing makeover. The entire area has a modern fresh look.
