Iron Stair Railing Anson Project

These iron stair railing pieces were created for a client in the Spring of 2019. My client chose a square tube for the top rail and a flat steel bottom rail. The purpose of this was to have a substantial looking top rail that would attach to the wood posts and wall. The flat bottom rail sections had holes drilled into the bottom rail after the design was laid out to screw it to the wood trim along the floor. Sigi Koko, the Principal of Down To Earth Design contacted me to use my BENT Iron Art railing as it complimented and accommodated a home that had a couple of trees growing through it. Naturally my railing design was the way to go. Seen here in these photos my BENT Iron Art railing intersects with the tree trunks in a home that had a couple of trees growing through it that look like sculpted pieces on their own and go up and through the home. BENT iron art interior railing with a distressed wood handrail and base

I did this project a few years ago with the end result being a distressed wood railing with my BENT iron art railing inserts. The railing had golden oak handrails and base and white balusters. The first step was to remove the white balusters and strip the oak handrail and base down to the bare wood. From there I custom fit and created my BENT iron art railing design as inserts. The iron was powder coated in a oil rubbed bronze finish. From that point the BENT iron art railing was then installed and attached to the handrail and wood…

Here is our latest wrought iron railing design on a custom deck in Calgary, Alberta. The client contacted me and provided the dimensions between the wood posts. From there I created my design in a 42" high railing. The steel was finished in a midnight black powder coat to ensure they will last a long time in the outdoors.
